Le D97 du sable de verre correspond \u00e0 une granulom\u00e9trie de 150 \u00e0 300 microns. Pour la silice fondue utilis\u00e9e comme charge en \u00e9lectronique, il est de 5 \u00e0 15 microns. La poudre de silice la plus fine, employ\u00e9e dans l&#039;encapsulation des semi-conducteurs, est inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 5 microns. Il ne s&#039;agit pas de variantes d&#039;un m\u00eame proc\u00e9d\u00e9. Leurs proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de fabrication requi\u00e8rent des \u00e9quipements, des consommations \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et des contr\u00f4les qualit\u00e9 totalement diff\u00e9rents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;erreur la plus fr\u00e9quente dans la conception d&#039;une ligne de traitement du quartz est de choisir l&#039;\u00e9quipement uniquement en fonction du d\u00e9bit, sans associer la finesse et la puret\u00e9 cibles \u00e0 la technologie de broyage et de classification appropri\u00e9e. Un broyeur \u00e0 boulets capable de traiter 5 t\/h \u00e0 D97 40 microns ne peut pas produire de mani\u00e8re rentable du D97 10 microns. Un broyeur \u00e0 jet produisant du D97 5 microns de haute puret\u00e9 fonctionne \u00e0 un d\u00e9bit bien inf\u00e9rieur et consomme 3 \u00e0 5 fois plus d&#039;\u00e9nergie. Elles n\u00e9cessitent un enrichissement en amont (s\u00e9paration magn\u00e9tique, lixiviation acide ou flottation) afin de r\u00e9duire la teneur en Fe\u2082O\u2083 et autres impuret\u00e9s au niveau requis avant l&#039;\u00e9tape de broyage. Le broyeur \u00e0 boulets assure la r\u00e9duction granulom\u00e9trique continue\u00a0; le classificateur \u00e0 air trie la poudre en sortie, renvoyant les particules surdimensionn\u00e9es vers le broyeur et acheminant les particules conformes vers la zone de collecte. La granulom\u00e9trie d&#039;alimentation est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 3-5 mm, provenant d&#039;un concasseur \u00e0 m\u00e2choires\u00a0; la granulom\u00e9trie du produit est contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par la vitesse de rotation des roues du classificateur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette configuration permet de traiter la majeure partie de la production commerciale de poudre de quartz\u00a0: charges g\u00e9n\u00e9rales, poudre pour rev\u00eatements, fraction fine pour pierres reconstitu\u00e9es et poudre de calcin de verre standard. \u00c0 une granulom\u00e9trie D97 de 37 \u00e0 45\u00a0microns (la sp\u00e9cification de charge la plus courante), une ligne de broyage \u00e0 boulets et de classification de taille moyenne produit de 3 \u00e0 8\u00a0t\/h avec une consommation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sp\u00e9cifique de 30 \u00e0 45\u00a0kWh par tonne. \u00c0 titre de comparaison, produire la m\u00eame granulom\u00e9trie D97 avec un broyeur \u00e0 jet co\u00fbterait de 90 \u00e0 120\u00a0kWh par tonne, soit trois \u00e0 quatre fois plus, sans aucun gain de qualit\u00e9 \u00e0 cette finesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le choix du mat\u00e9riau de rev\u00eatement est crucial pour le quartz en raison de sa duret\u00e9 (7 sur l&#039;\u00e9chelle de Mohs). Les rev\u00eatements et les m\u00e9dias de broyage en c\u00e9ramique d&#039;alumine sont la norme pour le traitement du quartz\u00a0: leur dur\u00e9e de vie est nettement sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle de l&#039;acier face \u00e0 ce mat\u00e9riau abrasif et ils \u00e9vitent toute contamination par le fer dans le produit. Il n&#039;y a ni billes de broyage ni surfaces m\u00e9talliques dans la zone de broyage. Le classificateur dynamique int\u00e9gr\u00e9 contr\u00f4le le D97 du produit. Cette configuration est id\u00e9ale pour deux applications\u00a0: les produits tr\u00e8s fins (D97 inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 15\u00a0microns) et les produits de haute puret\u00e9 (silice de qualit\u00e9 \u00e9lectronique o\u00f9 toute contamination m\u00e9tallique provenant des billes de broyage est inacceptable).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour les particules D97 de 5 \u00e0 15 microns, un broyeur \u00e0 jet permet d&#039;obtenir syst\u00e9matiquement une distribution granulom\u00e9trique plus \u00e9troite qu&#039;un broyeur \u00e0 boulets \u00e0 taille m\u00e9diane \u00e9quivalente. Le contr\u00f4le pr\u00e9cis de la granulom\u00e9trie D97 assur\u00e9 par le classificateur int\u00e9gr\u00e9 est sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui obtenu avec un broyeur \u00e0 boulets et un classificateur s\u00e9par\u00e9 pour les particules fines. Le co\u00fbt \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique est nettement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 (80 \u00e0 150 kWh par tonne contre 30 \u00e0 60 kWh par tonne pour un broyeur \u00e0 boulets), ce qui ne se justifie que si la valeur du produit le permet. La silice fondue de qualit\u00e9 \u00e9lectronique, \u00e0 $40-80\/kg, rend le surco\u00fbt \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du broyeur \u00e0 jet n\u00e9gligeable par rapport au chiffre d&#039;affaires. Le classificateur effectue le tri au D97 cible\u00a0; les particules surdimensionn\u00e9es sont renvoy\u00e9es au broyeur existant\u00a0; le produit conforme est collect\u00e9. Il s&#039;agit de la solution de modernisation la plus courante pour les exploitations de quartz existantes produisant un produit l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus grossier que ce qu&#039;exige le march\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un classificateur autonome permet \u00e9galement de produire deux granulom\u00e9tries diff\u00e9rentes \u00e0 partir d&#039;un seul broyeur\u00a0: une premi\u00e8re granulom\u00e9trie \u00e0 D97 = 45 microns pour le march\u00e9 des charges standard, et une seconde granulom\u00e9trie \u00e0 D97 = 15-20 microns pour une application \u00e0 plus forte valeur ajout\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9valu\u00e9 plusieurs fournisseurs d&#039;\u00e9quipements, elle a choisi EPIC Powder Machinery pour une configuration \u00e0 double ligne comprenant un broyeur \u00e0 boulets et un classificateur \u00e0 air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re : minerai de quartz, teneur en SiO2 sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 98,51 % TP3T<br>Taille des particules d&#039;alimentation\u00a0: inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 3\u00a0mm apr\u00e8s broyage par m\u00e2choires et par percussion<br>Syst\u00e8me : deux lignes de production parall\u00e8les de broyeurs \u00e0 boulets et de classificateurs \u00e0 air<br>Capacit\u00e9 nominale : 5 t\/h par ligne (10 t\/h au total)<br>Produit cible\u00a0: D97 d&#039;environ 37,7 microns pour le march\u00e9 des charges de rev\u00eatements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R\u00e9sultat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les deux lignes ont atteint un fonctionnement stable une semaine apr\u00e8s leur mise en service. Son broyeur \u00e0 boulets existant \u00e9tait correctement dimensionn\u00e9 pour le d\u00e9bit, mais la classification en aval, assur\u00e9e par un s\u00e9parateur \u00e0 tamis fixe, ne permettait pas d&#039;atteindre de mani\u00e8re fiable la granulom\u00e9trie cible D97.
