A vibration mill is a type of grinder that uses mechanical vibrations and oscillations generated by an eccentric or electromagnetic drive to apply energy to a grinding medium (such as balls, rods or cylinders) and the material being ground. The vibrating motion causes collisions within the grinding media, resulting in comminution (reduction of particle size) of the material being processed. Vibration mills are commonly used for fine and ultrafine grinding of materials in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, ceramic, and ore processing.
